All is now set for a hitch free 2014/ 2015 Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination (UTME) organized by Joint Admission and Matriculation Board at Federal University Otuoke on Saturday, April 12, 2014.
In an interview with the UTME Coordinator at Federal University Otuoke, Mrs. Helen Hussain, said the examination will be in two phases; Paper-Pencil Test (PPT) and Dual Based Test (DBT) while Computer Based Test will be held in two weeks time.
According to her, 1,080 candidates will be writing the PPT while 150 candidates will sit for the DBT disclosing that candidates sitting for DBT will read their questions from the computer and answer on papers that will be provided.
She further disclosed that the venue for Paper-Pencil Test will be the Faculty building of the University while the Dual Based Test will hold at the e-library.
Mrs.Hussain said the University has two Centres for PPT which will be supervised by 36 Invigilators while four Invigilators were provided for the DBT. She further stated that they have been properly trained for the exercise.
Speaking on the preparedness also, the Manager, Network Operations Centre (NOC) of the University, Mr. Ogunsakin Olatunji assured that all technical logistics have been put in place by the University to ensure a successful DBT outing.
Mr. Ogunsakin said 150 candidates will be sitting for the DBT but provision has been made for 160 internet ready computers for the exercise.
The essence according to him, is to ensure a hitch-free exercise while an alternative power supply has also been provided in the incident of power failure.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Mobolaji Aluko has been on his toes to ensure a successful exercise on Saturday.
