The Association of Nigerian University Administrators (ANUPA), Federal University Otuoke Chapter has elected a Six- member Caretaker Committee to pilot the affairs of the Association in the University.
The election which was held on Tuesday, May, 27, 2014 at the Reference Section of the University Library was conducted by the Registrar, Federal University Otuoke, Mr. David U. Suowari in the presence of all Senior Administrative Staff of the University.
In a keenly contested election, Mrs. Andabi Amangi-Edomo, the Examination Records and Students’ Statistics Officer emerged as the Pioneer Chairperson of ANUPA (FUO), after pulling 34 votes from the total 86 votes to defeat two other contestants, Mrs. Rita Agonodi and Mrs. Tariere Dabipi who had 27 and 25 votes respectively.
Other members elected were, Mrs. Rita Agonodi who was returned unopposed as Vice-Chairperson following withdrawals by Mr. Lawrence Orosola and Mr. Kenneth Sorandein.
Mr. Stephen Bayefa defeated two other contestants to be elected Secretary, the position of the Treasurer went to Mrs. Francisca Atare, Mrs. Jennifer Lelegite was elected Financial Secretary while Mr. Ebido Lucky is to serve as Public Relations Officer.
The Registrar in his post- election speech charged the newly elected Caretaker Committee members to be exemplary in piloting the affairs of ANUPA.
Responding on behalf of the newly elected Caretaker Committee members, Mrs. Andabi Amangi-Edomo described the election as transparent and credible. She however, thanked all ANUPA members for considering them worthy to serve promising not to betray the confidence reposed on them.
ANUPA is the mouthpiece of Professional Administrators in Nigerian Universities. It is not a Trade Union Group but a forum for mutual education and cross fertilization of ideas on University administration.
It has a National Secretariat, with its Headquarters, presently, in the Lagos State University, Ojo and branches in all Universities in Nigeria.
The Association is already a virile Organization that promotes and advances professional administrative knowledge and practices in Nigerian Universities.
It pursues the individual and Corporate welfare of members and undertakes any other acts, activities and programmes such that will further the attainment of its aims and objectives.
