In a bid to ensure sustainable national development, stakeholders under the aegis of International Institute for policy review and development strategies converged in Calabar the Cross River State capital to deliberate on the way forward.
Among scholars whose research efforts received attention at the summit were two lecturers in the Political Science Department, Federal University Otuoke, Dr. Love Arugu and Dr. Abiodun Adelegan.
Briefing FUO Media crew on the outcome of the research, Dr. Love Arugu noted that the summit focused on contemporary issues that have hindered sustainable development in the country while pointing out lack of project continuity by political office holders as a major factor of under development.
Owing to her credible scholarly profile, the Institute appointed Dr. Love Arugu as member, International Research Working/ Stakeholder Committee, Chairperson, professional committee for the appointment of Associates and members of the Institute and Director, Directorate of research, par excellence centre: South-South geo-political zone.
Commenting on the appointment, Dr. Love Arugu described it as a noble task, promising to apply experience and professionalism in order to promote quality research and institutional collaboration geared towards generating independent reproductive results.
She urged government to explore windows of opportunities available through the institutes research frame work and scholarly inputs for national development.
