Mein Federated Youth Assembly of Sagbama Local Government Area in Bayelsa State is poised to promote and preserve its cultural heritage which it has singled out as an important area of focus in synergy with Federal University Otuoke.
The group dropped the hint during a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mobolaji Aluko in his office.
Spokesman for the group and Public Relations Officer, Comrade Ekoni Fortune thanked management for granting them audience, disclosing that the group comprises of different youths from various clans having its headquarter in Ogobiri.
He expressed the willingness of the group to participate in the cultural based programmes of the University. “We are a socio-cultural group and want to team-up with you in the area of promoting our cultural heritage” he said.
Responding Vice Chancellor Prof. Aluko thanked the group for their desire to partner with the University, revealing that management is also taking seriously the issue of promoting cultural heritage of the Niger Delta Region and described it as a welcome development.
Other members of the delegation were; Owei Ebisindei Ekade,President, Arabina Victor, Secretary, Anya Diepreye,Financial Secretary and Mounkurai Tamaranware their Provost.
Present from the University was Head Public Relations Unit Ms. Mercy Ekott and her team.
