Vice Chancellor Federal University Otuoke, Prof. Mobolaji Aluko (FNSChE) has appealed to corporate organizations and individuals of good will to partner with the new University to build a world class Institution in the heart of the Niger Delta.
Prof. Aluko who made the appeal at the inaugural corporate open day ceremony at FUO noted that as a new Institution there is need to seek partnerships with reputable agencies.
The occasion was organized by the University with the aim to bring together local and international collaborators of the Institution and also seek areas of patronage that will enhance an effective learning atmosphere within the University.
Speaking at the event, the VC enlisted various areas of support to include scholarship to students, Staff development funding, Research funding, Students service learning, Summer job, and Employment opportunities for FUO graduates , others are vehicle, Staff quarters, Hostels, Resource centers, Loan Scheme for students etc. He however appealed to corporate bodies to assist the institution in any other areas through direct cash grants, donations, credit facilities etc.
The 2-day event started with a fund raising dinner, followed by a University brief by the Vice Chancellor where he showcased the infrastructural achievements the University has made within the short period of its existence since 2011.
He assured the audience of his desire to build a University of international repute where its graduates will favourably compete with their contemporaries across the globe.
The University’s inaugural corporate open day featured corporate Exhibition as well as campus tour led by the Vice Chancellor the guests were conducted round the University campus.
The inaugural corporate open day 2014 was organized through the Office of Institutional Advancement (OIA) Headed by Dr. Sepribo Lawson Jack.
The 2- day event was also well attended by Principal Officers of the Institution, including Heads of units and Senior Staff.
