FUO Laboratories have taken custody of more equipment and chemicals to cope with the increasing number of students and infrastructure, this is following procurement made by the University from intervention funding it received from Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).
Speaking to FUO Media Dean, Faculty of Science, Prof. Bio Nyananyo, said the development is a good one and will help the University to furnish its second set of laboratories for Biochemistry and Chemistry department.
“We are very grateful to TETFund for their support, these chemicals and equipment will be useful and will enable us furnish the second set of laboratories” he said.
Reacting to the development, Head of Chemical Sciences Department Dr. Ihuoma Adekunle said, the University has taken custody of the items from the contractor and is impressed with the quality adding that it will enable students carry out practicals more easily and conveniently.
The Dean, Prof. Nyananyo also disclosed that arrangements are on to provide four different laboratories for lecturers to carry out their own research and practicals, while urging students and staff of the Faculty to utilize the facilities effectively.
He further reaffirmed Management’s desire to ensure that students and staff get the best and hopes that the University gets the nod from the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) when they come for accreditation.
