The 2015 Health Week has been successfully concluded with free de-worming exercise organized for over 200 pupils of State School II Otuoke by the Health Services Department of the University.
As part of activities marking the 2015 Health Week, the University also distributed over 244 Insecticidal Treated Mosquito Nets to the school in a bid to kick-out malaria.
The Senior Medical Officer of FUO, Dr. Uchenna Nwachukwu who represented the Vice Chancellor at the occasion said the gesture was part of the University’s corporate social responsibility.
Thanking the University for the gesture, the Headmaster State School II Otuoke, Mr. Boma Jeremiah extended his appreciation to the University authority.
Mr. Jeremiah assured the University medical team that the nets will be evenly distributed among the pupils.
The Medical Unit back in the University also distributed Insecticidal nets to staff of FUO.
The 2015 health week, which begun on 14th July 2015 through 17th July 2015 was the maiden outing and is expected to be an annual event.
