Vice Chancellor FUO, Prof. Mobolaji Aluko has been honoured with the “Distinguished 2015 Leadership Award” by the Centre for Gas, Refining and Petro-Chemicals, Institute of Petroleum Studies (CGRP/IPS), University of Port Harcourt.
Prof. Aluko received the award during the Fourth edition of the Port Harcourt International Petroleum Downstream Conference and Exhibition on Gas, Petroleum Refining, Petrochemical and Fertilizers Industries held recently in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Speaking during the event, The Director of CGRP/IPS Prof. Godwin Igwe said the Award was presented to 11 Nigerian Oil Industry Professionals for “Making things happen in downstream oil and gas enterprises”.
Prof. Igwe said Prof. Aluko was selected for his efforts in educating and proving insightful general knowledge and clarity on current political landscape of Nigeria.
Prof. Aluko who is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (FNSChE) expressed his gratitude for the recognition, describing it as satisfying while describing University of Port Harcourt as a benefactor of FUO.
In his words “My basic comment is that it is always particularly satisfying to be accorded recognition by ones’s peers. Uniport is also particularly close to the heart of FU Otuoke as it is one of our major benefactors in terms of better provision of Academic and Non-Academic staff.
Among those awarded are, Managing Director Nigeria LNG Limited Mr. Babs Omotowa, Former Group Executive, Nigerian National petroleum Corporation, Mr. Anthony Ogbwigwe, President, Prads Energy Solutions, USA, Mr. Seni Olufemi Oyekan.
Others include, the Group Co-ordinator Corporate Planning and Strategy, NNPC, Dr. Timothy Okon, Managing Director Niger Delta Exploration and Production Plc. Mr. Olayiwola Falama.
