The Vice Chancellor Federal University Otuoke Prof. Mobolaji Aluko says Public Relations practitioners play a pivotal role to sharpen organizational image noting that the institution has a formidable public relations team that is alive to its responsibilities.
Prof. Aluko disclosed this when members of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Bayelsa State chapter led by its Chairman Dr. (Mrs.) Adombazi Tawari paid him a courtesy visit in his office Thursday 27th August, 2015.
The VC who said he was working very closely with the Public Relations Unit described the team as professionals who are ready to deliver.
He pledged to give them all the necessary support in an effort to inject fresh ideas in information management of the University.
In her address, the Chairman, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations Bayelsa State Chapter, Dr. (Mrs) Adombazi Tawari lauded the Vice chancellor on his achievements within the short period as pioneer VC urging him to give the P. R Unit a free hand to function.
Dr. Tawari appealed to the VC to provide enough funds for P.R operations and also sponsor staff of the P.R Unit to the Institute’s conferences.
The Nigeria Institute of Public Relations was established in 1963 and became chartered by decree 16th June 1990 and an affiliate of the Global Institute of Public Relations which has since inception improved the knowledge of its members in line with global best practices.
