The Nigeria Football Coaches Association Bayelsa State chapter has named the FUO Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mobolaji Aluko as her Grand Patron.
The Association made this known when they paid courtesy visit to the VC in his office.
Speaking during the visit, chief Alabrah Lawrence who led the Team thanked Prof. Mobolaji Aluko for granting them audience inspite of his tight schedule, while commending him for his efforts so far in making FUO a sporting University.
He sighted the appointment of the Association’s chairman, Mr. Edwards Dipreye, Coach of FUO Soccer Team as beneficial to the University adding that it is well deserved owning to Mr. Edwards experience in football coaching at home and Diaspora.
Chief Alabrah disclosed that the decision to make the seat of the Vice Chancellor, FUO a permanent Patron is because the Association believes the Foundation laid by Prof. Mobolaji Aluko in the University and sports will be sustained, also adding that it is to ensure that the synergy between the two parties is sustained.
“We want to thank you for your efforts so far and are here to formally make you a pillar of sports in FUO and any Vice Chancellor after you will continue in that capacity” he said.
Responding to the visitors Prof. Mobolaji Aluko expressed his gratitude to the Association for recognizing his efforts he disclosed that his affection for sports in general is strong as he has been competing in sports at various levels back in the days.
He thanked the Association for the honour promising to ensure that the partnership succeeds.
“I love sports in general and will always encourage people to engage in sporting activities, I’m happy for your offer hoping that we will have a good relationship” he said.
Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of jersey Number 9 to the VC. Other members of the Association on the visit were; Chief M. Fekete, Coach Okehism Ebimobowei, Coach Ownaro Fubara and the chairman and Coach of FUO Team Mr. Dipreye Edwards.
