The National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) has elected its first executive members of Federal University Otuoke.
Members of NAAT are all Academic Technologists who work in Faculties of Science and Engineering Laboratories within the University.
Inaugurating the members, the National President of the Association who was represented by the National Secretary, Iyoyo Hamilton enjoined the newly elected executive members to work towards improving the welfare of members.
He noted that the essence of unionism is to engage management constructively towards achieving the unions set goals. Mr. Hamilton who charged members to support the leadership however urged the executives to abide by the rules and regulations of the University adding that they should always encourage a healthy relationship between the Union and management.
Earlier in his speech, the zonal coordinator South-South, Mr. Ambrose Ogbegbe assured NAAT of the support of the zonal body as an advisor.
Newly inaugurated executive members include. Mr. Ama Egeonu Uduma, Chairman, Mr. Powedei emerged as Vice Chairman while the position of Secretary went to Izibenado George.
Other members are Pere Clinton Sogo Financial Secretary, Munonye Kingsley – Treasurer, Kurokeigha Pepple – PRO and Arekumo ThankGod, Assistant Secretary.
The NAAT executive members have since presented themselves to the Vice Chanceloor Prof. Seth Accra Jaja who pledged his support to the union.
