Radio Bayelsa Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has advocated for the establishment of a press club in Federal University Otuoke to give room for students to freely express their opinion and groom them in Journalism. The Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Tonye Yemoleigha disclosed this when he and other executive members paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor Federal University Otuoke, Pfof. Seth Accra Jaja in his office.
Comrade Yemoleigha who used the occasion to call on political leaders to give more attention to the academia for optimal development urged the Vice Chancellor to be media friendly.
Welcoming the team of Journalists, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Seth Accra Jaja noted the importance of information in any progressive organization and also the vital role Journalists play in national development.
Prof Jaja who solicited for support of Journalists said the profession has an important role to play in shaping the minds of the people regarding the young University.
The Vice Chancellor assured the Chapel of the University’s determination to explore various ways of partnership with the chapel.
