The acting Head of Department, Banking and Finance Federal University Otuoke, Dr. Etumudan Ndidi Asien says the Department is working hard to create an enabling environment for the pioneer students of the department.
Dr. Asien who said this at the one day orientation exercise the department organized for the new students Thursday at the skills acquisition centre of the University enjoined students to make the best use of the opportunity the admission has offered them.
Urging them to take their studies seriously, the Head of Department noted that the road to academic excellence begins at this early stage.
According to him ”cherish your admission, it is not easy to be admitted into a University as pioneer students”.
Dr. Asien advised the freshmen to respect constituted authority in the University urging them to work harmoniously with lecturers of the department.
Saying that the University attaches importance to the sanity of examinations, the HOD advised the students to avoid any action that will be inimical to their stay in the University.
Advising the students also, the Head of Business Administration, Dr Falade-Obalade Adedapo urged them to shun any unruly behavior that will affect their future.
On her part, Dr Helen Opigo, Head of Entrepreneurship Department commended the students for gaining admission into Federal Univerisity Otuoke, she urged them to make the best use of the admission.
Dr Opigo further advised them to make good use of the facilities in the University and urged them to obey the rules of the University.
Also speaking at the event, the Head of Public Relations Unit, Ms Mercy Ekott, thanked the organizers of the Orientation exercise noting that the event serves as a mentoring platform for the new students.
The pioneer Banking and Finance students also staged a play on how to invest wisely. The play which served as an enlightenment equally entertained participants.
