Felicia E. Etim is a Professor of Library and Information Science. She served as the University Librarian, University of Uyo, Nigeria from 2005-2015. She is the current University Librarian, Federal University Otuoke effective February, 2019. She is the President and Founder, Association of Educationists and Information Managers (ASSEIMA) 1997 to date. She is the Principal Consultant in the Centre for Education, Library and Information Management Training (CELIMAT) from 2016- date and the Chairman of Governing Council of Uma Ukpai School of Theology 2018- date. She is the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Readership Development and Information Literacy Advocacy (REDILA) – a community based non-governmental organisation & readership promotion project. She was the Chairman Akwa Ibom State Library Board 2000-2007. She was also the Chairman Akwa Ibom State Library Association 2003-2010 and National Council Member Nigerian Library Association (NLA) for that period. Professor Felicia Etim is currently a Standing Committee Member for International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Africa Section (2019-2023).

Her research interest is in the areas of Information User Studies and Information Literacy, specifically focusing on the area of Library Development, Information Management and Readership Advocacy. She is Editor-in-Chief of three professional journals, author of six (6) books and eighty-two (82) widely-published articles in national and international journals. Professor Felicia Etim has attended 72 conferences both Local and International, including USA, Britain, France, Italy, Canada, Korea, Singapore, Sweden, Finland, Ghana, South Africa, Greece, etc.

She had served as a keynote resource person at: several conferences and workshops in national and international fora. She has also served as the Principal Consultant for the Akwa Ibom E-Library project and Chief Adviser to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State on Library Development and Services. She is External Examiner to many library schools in Africa and Consultant Information Manager to UNESCO, UNDP, World Bank. Professor Felicia Etim is a Fellow of the Institute for Corporate Administration of Nigeria (FCAI), 2003; certified by the Librarians’ Registration Council (LRCN) 2005; member of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutes (IFLA) 2006; National Association of Library and Information Science Educators (NALISE) 2010; Fellow of the Nigerian Library Association (FNLA) 2010. She is also affiliated to the American Library Association (ALA) 2011, and the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) 2013, United Kingdom. She is a recurrent appointee in the West African region for the external assessment of Associate Professors and Professors in her field. Some of such institutions include Kwame Nkuruma University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Akwa Ibom State University, Ikot Akpaden, University of Calabar, etc. To date, she has been a recipient of over eighty awards on leadership, social, professional development and education. The President and Founder of Jegglo Foundation- a faith based outreach to enhance Christian Readership.
