Mr. Kenneth Ohis IRENOA
BRIEF PROFILE
Mr. Kenneth Ohis Irenoa, is a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and currently working at the Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa State as the Librarian School of Post Graduate Studies. He holds a Masters Degree in Information Science and a Bachelors Degree Library and Information Science both from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, and Diplomas in Library and information Science, Computer Engineering and Computer Studies from Institutions across Nigeria. He waswinner of the Nigerian Library Association’s Young Library and Information Professional (yLIP 2015), E.O Bankole Librarian of the Year, (2016), and Dr James O. Daniel Award for the Most Innovative Library-based ICT project (2016).
He is a Standing Committee Member of the News Media Section of IFLA (2023 – Date);a Member of the Digital Crew of the Nigerian Library Association, Member of, the Society of Nigerian Archivists (SNA – 2022 – Date); Member of, the International Association for Social Science Information Service and Technology (IASSIST – Africa, and West Africa – 2021 – Date);He became a certified librarian of the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) in 2012; he has been a member of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA) since 2014, and also a member of the NLAIT Section. He was Secretary, of the Nigerian Library Association, Bayelsa State Chapter (December 2016 – January 2020).
He is an Alumnus of the Carnegie Corporation and University of Pretoria CPD Programme; he is also an alumnus of the Nigerian Information Professionals Innovation Ambassadors Network (NIPIAN) of the US Consulate Embassy in Nigeria, Goethe-Institut, and University of Abuja. His area of specialization and research interests include: Social Informatics, Information Literacy, Digital Library Services, Digital Preservation and Scholarly Communication. He has been a Resource Person for the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN – 2015 – Date); He is currently the Business Editor, Niger Delta Journal of Library and Information Science (NDJLIS), a publication of the University Library, Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa State.
