PROF. CLETUS O. AKENBOR
BRIEF PROFILE
Prof. Cletus O. Akenbor obtained the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration (Marketing) from Auchi Polytechnic Auchi where he was honoured by the polytechnic authority as the best graduating student of Business Administration (Marketing) in the 1996/97 academic session. Thereafter, he went to the University of Ibadan and had a Bachelor Degree (B.Ed) in Accounting. Prof. Akenbor also attended the Rivers State University of Science and Technology now Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, where he acquired his Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Business Studies, Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing. His zeal for academics took him to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Akwa, where he bagged his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Degree in Accounting, and also University of Benin to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Degree in Business Administration. In addition to the above degrees, Cletus O. Akenbor is also a holder of Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and an astute lawyer. To supplement his academic qualifications, Cletus O. Akenbor has certifications with the following professional bodies: Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Nigerian Accounting Association (NAA), Institute of Cost and Management Accountant (ICMA), The Academy of Management Nigeria (TAMN), and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).
Prof. Akenbor started his academic career as a part-time lecturer at the Rivers State Polytechnic now Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori. Later, he joined the services of the University of Port Harcourt. In 2012, he sailed his academic career train to the Federal University Otuoke where he served as the pioneer Head of Department of Accounting. After serving meritoriously in the capacity of Head of Department for four years, he was appointed Director of Entrepreneurship Development Centre of the University, and presently Prof. Akenbor is the Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences of the Federal University Otuoke.
