BRIEF PROFILE

Mrs. Oghenetega Jewel Emeriewen hails from Delta State, currently holds the position of Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Biology at the Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa State and also a doctoral student in the same institution. Her academic journey is marked by a profound educational background, holding both a Bachelor of Science Degree in Plant Science and Biotechnology and a Master of Science in Plant Taxonomy and Biosystematics from University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
She is a Plant taxonomist and enthusiastic biologist whose research interest includes molecular basis of taxonomic classification in plants, histochemical studies of secondary metabolites in plants, plant biosystematics, plant biotechnology, ethnobotany, plant breeding and genetic engineering.
She is passionate about empowering others through advocacy, engagement, and collaborating with various stakeholders to bridge research gap. She is dedicated to her career as lecturer who strives to impact knowledge, coach and mentor her students academically. She continues to make significant contributions to the field of Plant taxonomy and biosystematics.
