Brief History of the Department

Medical Laboratory Science in Federal University Otuoke came into existence for the 2022/2023 academic session under the Faculty of Science, as a Department awaiting Faculty approval, with Dr. E.S Agoro  as the pioneer acting Head of the Department and subsequently acting Dean. Medical Laboratory Science attained a Faculty status shortly after inception, and took-off with four Departments namely Medical Microbiology and Parasitology / Immunology, Chemical Pathology and Molecular Diagnostics, Histopathology and Cytopathology, and Haematology and Blood Transfusion Science Department(s). With an arsenal of well versed and seasoned research oriented professionals as lecturers, the Faculty is set to expound on the quality and richness of the existing course offerings.
