Brief History of the Department
The Department of Philosophy, Federal University Otuoke was established on February 7, 2023. The initial staff were Dr Socrates Ebo as pioneer Head of Department, Dr Bruno Ikuli and Mr Richman Igbagara. Shortly after the commencement, Dr Ada Agada, Dr Thadeus Oparah and Mr Iworiso Azibaolanami joined the department. Admission of students into the department commenced in the 2023/2024 session. The 45 pioneer students of the department were matriculated on March 1, 2024. At the moment the department offers only a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy.
