DR. CHILAKA C. FRANCIS

BRIEF PROFILE:

Dr. Francis Chigozie Chilaka, is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Science, Federal University Otuoke (FUO) Bayelsa State. He obtained a Ph.D. in Political Science with emphasis in International Relations from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he also obtained his first and second degrees respectively. His research interest extends to conflict resolution, Strategic Studies, development studies, peace and conflict resolution. 

He was a former Acting Head of the Department of Political Science, and currently the Sub-Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Federal University Otuoke. He has authored many scholarly articles both in referred local and international journals. He is an active member of Nigerian Political Science Association (NPSA); Nigerian Political Science Association South-South Chapter (NPSA-SS) and Nigerian Political Science Association South East Chapter (NPSA-SE).

He has attended numerous scholarly conferences, locally and internationally. He is actively involved in community service, as Patrons to Man-O-War Nigeria, FUO Command and Sacred Heart, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Otuaba, Bayelsa State.
