DR. IFEOMA VIVIAN ANYIAM
BRIEF PROFILE
Ifeoma Vivian Anyiam obtained her B.Sc. in Microbiology (Madonna University), M.Sc. in Medical Microbiology from University of Lagos and Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology from University of Port Harcourt. She is a Senior Lecturer and currently the Ag. Head, Department of Microbiology. She has skills in Molecular technique (PCR and Plasmid Profiling). She is member of American Society of Microbiology (ASM), Nigerian Society for Microbiology (NSM), The Nigerian Institution of Professional Engineers and Scientists (NIPES) and Organization for Women in Science for the developing World (OWSD). She is passionate in impacting knowledge, enthusiastic and open to collaborative research.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Molecular characterization of anaerobes from clinical sources, Clinical infectious diseases, Antimicrobial Resistance and Molecular Microbiology. Her general research is focused on Medical Microbiology, Phytomedicine, Infectious diseases and Human Microbiome. She is currently working on Molecular epidemiology of metallo-β-lactamase (MBLs) in clinical isolates of ESKAPE bacteria.
