Dr. John T. Kalama

BRIEF PROFILE: John Kalama Ph.D. was born in Accra, Ghana on the  6th of March, 1969. He studied Political Science & Public Administration from the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State (1995-1999), the University of Port- Harcourt where he obtained an M.Sc. Degree in International Relations (2007). He proceeded to the University of Calabar, Cross River State where he obtained a Ph.D degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies (2017). Dr. John Kalama is a versatile scholar with over Sixty (60) Research papers in foreign and local journals including book chapters. He has also published Six (6) books in the fields of International Relations and Political Science. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Science, Federal University Otuoke and also the Director of SERVICOM in the Institution. He is a lover of books and sports especially football (Goal keeping) hence he is also a licensed grade one football Referee with the Bayelsa state Referees Council. Dr. John Kalama is happily married with children.

Research Interest: The high rate of insecurity and conflict across the world especially the third world (African States) calls for concern and re-evaluation. Thus, there is need to address the fundamental issues driving these conflict and violence at different levels. The study of nonviolent conflict resolution approaches becomes imperative hence Dr. John Kalama’s research  area  or interest include; Peace and Conflict Studies, Peace building Strategies and Frameworks including nonviolent counter terrorism Strategies and  approaches to conflict such as Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) Studies.
