DR. MICHAEL ADETOPE ALADESE
BRIEF PROFILE
Michael Adetope Aladese is Lecturer I. He holds a Ph.D in Environmental and Public Health Microbiology, (Uniben), M.Sc. in Food and Industrial Microbiology, (Uniben) and B.Sc. in Microbiology (LASU). He is a member Nigerian Society for Microbiology (NSM) and Society for Forensic and Analytical Scientists Nigeria (SFASN). He has skills in Physico-chemical and microbiological quality assessment of surface and underground waters, Microbiology quality assessments of food samples, PCR based of DNA fingerprinting to ascertain clonal relationship of strains using PCR-based probes, Proficient use of software packages (MS WORD, EXCEL, Powerpoint, SSPS, POPGENE and UPGMA+DICE) for data analysis and representation.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
• Physico-chemical and the microbiological quality assessment of surface and underground water samples from creek settlements in South-south, Nigeria.
• Microbial source tracking through molecular/DNA fingerprinting of Vibrio cholerae from clinical and environmental samples.
• Genetic analysis of virulence associated genes from CTX genetic gene cascade using PCR-based probes in Vibrio cholerae non-O1 and non-O139.
• Distribution and genetic relatedness of endophytic bacteria and fungi from plants of economic importance in South-south, Nigeria
