Employment History
Prof. Akporehwe started her career as an Education Officer I with the Federal Ministry of Education (Federal Government Collage Rumuokoro Port Harcourt) between 1996 to 2002. She joined the Niger Delta University as an Assistant Lecturer in 2002 where she steadily progressed to the rank of an Associate Professor in 2019.
While in the Niger Delta University, she held administrative positions as departmental examination Officer, member of various committees as well as the Ag. Head of Department (Science Education) from 2018 to 2021. In 2021, she transferred her services from Niger Delta University to Federal University Otuoke as an Associate Professor.

She has supervised over 100 undergraduate students’ projects, 30 Post Graduate Diploma in Health Education PGDH and 30 Masters theses. She has attended several conferences both local and National and has 51 publications both in national and international Journals, book chapters, and a book to her credit.
Prof. Akporehwe was a chief examiner to National Teachers Institute (NTI) Kaduna in the Bachelor Degree Programme (Integrated Science) of the National Institute (NTI) Kaduna and the centre manager of the Post Graduate Diploma (PGDE) programme of the same Institute in Bayelsa State Study Centre. A guest presenter at the STAN annual series 2024 on Improving Teachers’ Output through Reflective Teaching. She is fluent in the spoken English and Izon Languages LanguagesRESEARCH INTEREST:
Her research interest is in science teaching methodologies with keen interest in improving performance via activity-based innovative strategies. She also has special interest in developing the affective domain in learners for a holistic and functional science education programme.
