DR. OGUNYEMI O. ODERINLO
BRIEF PROFILE
Dr. Oderinlo obtained his PhD in Chemistry from Rhodes University, South Africa (2019) and an MSc in Organic Chemistry from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria (2012). He earned a BTech in Pure and Applied Chemistry from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Nigeria (2008). He has participated in several conferences and workshops, including the well-known Gordon Research Conference. Dr. Oderinlo is a member of the Society for Medicinal Plants and Economic Development.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr Oderinlo’s research interests include Natural Products Chemistry, Organic Synthesis, Medicinal Chemistry, and Material Science. His primary research interests are in the application of chemical methods to biological problems. He is especially interested in drug discovery research for infectious diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis, trypanosomiasis, leishmaniasis, COVID-19, and oral candidiasis. He is also investigating the corrosion-inhibiting properties of natural and synthetic heterocyclic compounds.
