DR. OPARA CHRISTIANA NGOZI

BRIEF PROFILE

Opara, Christiana Ngozi is a Lecturer I. She holds B.Sc. in Food Science and Technology from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, M.Sc. and PhD in Food Microbiology and Biotechnology from Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta. She is a Food Microbiology and Biotechnology specialist with about seven years research and teaching experience. She is a member of American Society for Microbiology (ASM), Organization for Women in Science for Developing World (OWSD), Nigerian Society for Microbiology (NSM), Biotechnology Society of Nigeria (BSN), Society for Applied Microbiology (SAM) and Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST). Christiana is an Adept at researching and engaging interactive teaching methods that sets strong foundation for participative and collaborative learning experience. Enthusiastic and committed in supporting students realize their learning objectives.

 

RESEARCH INTEREST

Molecular Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Safety and Quality which are thus a public health concern. Her core interest is on Food safety using Rapid methods for the detection of foodborne bacterial pathogens in different food sample (fermented, processed, natural food, vegetables etc).
