BRIEF PROFILE

Tokpo Coronation Edward holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (Ph.D.) in Political Science from the Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State, specializing in Development Studies. His research interests are in Governance, peace and conflict studies, security studies, international development, etc.  He currently teaches Political Science at the Department of Political Science, Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State. He is also the Deputy Director, Academic Planning, Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State.

Work experience

Lecturer, of Political Science at the Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa state, 2014-date.

Assistant Research Fellow (ARF) at the Department of Peace, Conflict and Humanitarian Studies, Centre for Strategic Research and Studies, National Defence College, Abuja from 2013-2014.

Programme Producer Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Yenagoa from 2009 -2010.

Supervisory Councilor for Works and Transport in the Southern Ijaw Local Government Council from 2010 – 2012.

Skills acquired

Good computer knowledge and computing skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Internet browsing. He has a good understanding of team work, sense of good judgment, ability to apply diplomacy, maintain confidentiality, and discern sensitive issues.

RESEARCH INTEREST: Governance, peace and conflict studies, security studies, and international development.
