Dr. Umoh Edet OKON
BRIEF PROFILE
Dr. Edet Okon Umoh is the Ag. Dean of the faculty. He is a holder of bachelor’s degree (BNSc) in Nursing Sciences from National Open University of Nigeria, Abuja. He hails from Calabar South Local Government of Cross River State where he got his preliminaries in life and studies. He specializes in Psychiatric Nursing and Nursing Education having undergone professional training to obtain Registered Nursing (RN) and Registered Psychiatric Nursing (RPN). To set pace and achieve educational background for Nursing Education, he attained Post Graduate Education (PGEdu) in National Training Institute/National Open University of Nigeria. This prompted him into double Master program in both University of Central Nicaragua for Master in Nursing and University of Calabar, Nigeria for Master in Evaluation, Test and Measurement.
He further advanced his study into Philosophy Degree (PhDN) in Nursing from University of Central Nicaragua. In the area of research, his desire of study revolves round psychiatric nursing practice in the clinical setting, community and educating nurses on the skill to help diagnose early, treat and manage, prevent, and rehabilitate every form of psychiatric mental illness at all setting. He’s into partnership in journal publication and review with Texila International Journal of Nursing, International Journal of Research and Scientific Innovation (IJRSI), RSIS International: [email protected], International Journal of Nursing Research (IJNR) and Cognizance Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies: www.cognizancejournal.com where he shares most of his research work and findings. He is happily married with four children.
