Engr. Abhon Adus
Engr. Abhon Adus, MNSE, MNIMechE, AMEI popularly known as Engr. A.A is a powerhouse in the field of renewable energy. He is a Consultant, Renewable Energy Engineer and Lecturer at the Federal University Otuoke in Bayelsa State. His professional career spans over fourteen (14) years of extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in providing engineering, technical advisory, analytical and operational work support to projects and programs in the areas of renewable energy, built environment, clean technology, energy management, circular economy, environmental sustainability, and recently energy policy, climate adaptation and governance.
He obtained a Bachelor in Engineering with Honours, BEng (Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering at Coventry University, UK in 2012, an Executive Diploma in Project Management at Synergy Business School, Malaysia in 2014, a Master’s of Science (M.Sc) in Mechanical Engineering (Renewable Energy Option) at Heriot-Watt University, UK in 2019 and a PhD (In-view). During this period, he has published over eight (8) academic articles in both local and international journals and three (3) technical reports and has also contributed to several online articles in the energy sector (The Electricity Hub and Illuminem).Engr. Adus is a Research Fellow of the 2022 Open Africa Power Program by the Enel Group and Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) and due to his remarkable contributions to the renewable energy sector, he was selected in 2022 as a Member of the Adhoc Working Group of the Council of Engineering on the Energy Transition (CEET): An Independent Advisory Council of the United Nations, saddled with the responsibility to develop global and region-specific recommendations to accelerate the transition to low-carbon energy systems.
His dedication extends beyond academics. Engr. Adus is a/an: COREN Registered Mechanical Engineer, Corporate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Corporate Member of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE), Associate Member of Energy Institute (IE), UK and others. He is currently serving as the Treasurer of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Yenagoa Chapter and doubles as the Technical Secretary of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Yenagoa Branch.
