Mr. Azibaoguanasi Williams

BRIEF PROFIILE 

Azibaoguanasi Williams teaches applied linguistics, sociolinguistics, world languages, and Niger Delta linguistics in the Department of Linguistics and Department of English and Communication Studies at Federal University Otuoke, Nigeria. He joined the University on 30th June, 2023, as Assistant Lecturer. His research focuses on onomastics, sociolinguistics, applied linguistics and forensic linguistics.

Mr. Williams holds an MA degree in Applied Linguistics (2016) and a BA degree in Linguistics (Second Class Upper Division) (2010) from University of Ilorin respectively. His research articles have appeared in reputable journals such as Voprosy Onomastiki (Problems of Onomastics, Russia), Journal of the International Council of Onomastic Sciences (Onoma, Sweden), and the Journal of West African Languages (Vienna).

Azibaoguanasi has served in various committees in the Department of Linguistics and Department of English and Communication Studies. Currently, he is the Undergraduate Project Coordinator for the Department of English and Communication Studies; and a member of Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) and the welfare committee of ASUU-FUO. He also serves as Special Adviser on Research and Documentation to the king of his hometown, Onuebum.
