Prof. Edward E. Okechukwu
BRIEF PROFIILE
Okechukwu Edward OKEKE is a Professor of History at Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa State NIGERIA. Employed in 2012, he is one of the pioneer lecturers of the University. Before joining the academic staff of Federal University Otuoke, he served as a lecturer at Abia State University, Uturu for over twenty years. Since 2013, he has been a Head of Department, Director and Dean. From 2015 to 2023, he has been a member of the Governing Council of the University as a representative of Senate. Born in October 1961, Okeke received his BA at the University of Port Harcourt (1982); MA at the University of Benin (1986) and PhD at the University of Nigeria (2003). Professor Okeke is married with children.
Professor Okeke writes evidence-based history, using common sense and everyday language. His works are easily understood by both the expert and the general reader. He is not ideologically fixated, but he has conservative values– values derived from African values, Western philosophy and Christian doctrines.
