Prof. (Mrs.) Iheoma M. Adekunle
DIRECTOR, CONSULTANCY & INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT
Prof. Iheoma. M. Adekunle is a Professor of Analytical & Environmental Chemistry. She graduated from Chemistry Department, University of Ibadan, Nigeria and later trained at the University of Karlsruhe (TH), Karlsruhe, Germany. She is widely published in both national and international reputable academic journals and books and has been an External Assessor to Research & Development Agencies as well as Institutions both within and outside Nigeria. Prof. Adekunle delivered the second inaugural lecture of the University titled “Chemistry in Analytical Rhapsody for Environmental Sustainability”. Until her emergence as the Dean, She was the pioneer Head of Chemistry Department and also the Pioneer Director, Research & Quality Assurance Directorate of the University. Her national and international academic & industrial exposures have enabled her to revolutionize chemistry curriculum in the University to have entrepreneurial component at the undergraduate level. Prof. Adekunle is a recipient of several awards for both short-term and long term academic activities. She is the Coordinator of Environmental Remediation Research Group (ERRG) of the University; presently working on development and optimization of a nanotechnology-based and ecofriendly soil remediation technique for field applications and solving some regional environmental problems of the Niger Delta. Her Research & Development Drive is largely anchored on University – Government-Industry Partnership (UGIP), striving to forge reputable collaborations that will transform scientific discoveries and innovations to solutions for regional, national and international challenges.
