On Tuesday 21st May 2024, Degema National High School Old Students Association, Rivers State paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor of FUO, Professor Teddy Charles Adias in his office in the West Campus of the University.

Speaking in the VCs office at the Chancery, the Leader of the team and President, Interim Executive Committee of the association, Dr. Oteiva Mokie-Frank, thanked the VC for the warm reception. In his address, he expressed delight that one of the alumni of the association had risen to such an enviable height in his profession and wished that his tenure be marked with continued success and groundbreaking achievements.

 In his words, “your exemplary leadership and academic contributions have been a source of inspiration to many. Your journey from the halls of Degema National High School to becoming the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Otuoke is a testament to your unwavering dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence”.

Dr. Mokie-Frank prayed for opportunities for collaboration between DNHSOSA and the Federal University Otuoke to further educational excellence and community development.

The Vice Chancellor was overly elated at their visit and went back memory lane nostalgically remembering fun times in their high school days.  In his response, he pledged to support the association on any of their programmes and lend a voice where needed to further advance their Alma matter.

The Vice Chancellor was adorned with a muffler of the association and presented with a gift item from the group. Other members of the team were; Okieye Solomon, PhD, (Vice President), Mr Izulu Wamaemi Emmanuel (Secretary) amongst others.

Present to witness this were the SAVC Mrs Andabi Amangi- Edomo , the PRO Ms Mercy Ekott and the Head, Publications Unit, Mrs Enobong Etukakpan.
